The Department of Physical Education at Government Degree College Chail-Koti, established in 2015, plays a vital role in promoting physical fitness, sports participation, and holistic development among students by integrating structured physical activities with scientific sports education. The department aims to nurture disciplined, confident, and health-conscious individuals through quality instruction, practical training, and values-driven sports programs. It offers a range of academic components including Discipline-Specific Courses, Skill Enhancement Courses, and Generic Elective courses, supported by hands on training in athletics, team games, martial arts, fitness modules, and wellness practices. With qualified faculty, the department provides essential sports facilities including outdoor playgrounds, indoor activity areas, and fitness equipment that support both academic and competitive sports development. The department regularly conducts intramural competitions, annual sports meets, coaching camps, and inter-college participation, while also organizing fitness awareness initiatives and community outreach activities in collaboration with local institutions.
